題名: Life cycle patterns of professional performance from Go world champions
    作者: Lin, YH
貢獻者: Institute of Population Health Sciences
摘要: Strategy board games feature well-defined rules, complex strategy planning, and numerous alternatives to each movement, making these games a great tool to study cognitive skills 1, 2 . Among them, chess is the most widely used. For example, a recent article used the data from 20 world chess champions over the past 150 years; the results showed a hump-shaped profile of performance over the chess champions’ life cycle and that each new generation of players performed better than prior generations 3 . That study presented evidence for life cycle patterns and long-run dynamics of professional performance. The game of Go is another popular strategy board game and has received increased public attention since 2016, when AlphaGo defeated the world champion, Lee Sedol 4 . However, the game of Go received relatively little focus in cognitive research.
